Alissa Wassung (Costume Designer)

Alissa Wassung

Since the age of 15 Alissa has been a professional ballerina with Hartford Ballet, American Ballet Theater, Chautauqua Festival Ballet and Company Appels. When an injury stopped her career, she became the valedictorian of the AAS class of '06 at Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, where she majored in Costume and Fashion Design. While completing her degree Alissa worked in the fashion world with jobs at Diane von Furstenberg and Esteban Cortazar. She went on to become a costume designer in New York City and abroad, most notably working as the assistant designer for Broadway designer Zack Brown and also as the head of the costume department at Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward's Westport Country Playhouse. Alissa is currently attending Yale University to complete her bachelor's degree.
